Danforth Avenue is a HBLR station right before the Bayonne Branch actually enters Bayonne. It is located in the Morris Canal's Bed, and has a simple island platform with single canopy towards its southern end where a grade crossing across the west track leads to an exit via a single staircase and very short elevator up to a lengthy plaza (about a NJ LRV in length) that finally leads to the station exit across from Danforth Ave at Princeton Ave. Station artwork includes Immigrant Remnants by Karl Jenson (also at Richard Street) of cast concrete sculptures that replicate petrified remains of luggage that were found during the excavation for the light rail along the platform. The elevator shaft as neon lights by Ray King. The windscreens have birds and nature by Anne Dushanko-Dobek. A concrete and bronze map of the original, HBLR lines by Gregg LeFevre are embedded in the platform.
