The Original Cars of Queens Blvd and 6 Avenue: R1-9 in Revenue Service on the F On 25 and 26 September, 2004 between 10AM and 5PM the IND
Museum R1-9 train ran in revenue service on the F
line between Forest Hills-71/Continental Avenues (the first run on
Sunday was extended via local up to 179 Street-Jamaica) and 2
Avenue-Houston Street via Queens Blvd Express. This weekend also marked
the first time the R1-9 ran in revenue service in the newest subway
line the 63 Street Line that opened in 1989. My Routes:
I only went on Sunday: on the first round trip up to Jamaica-179 Street
and back, On the way up at 71-Continental Avenues they announced the
train was out of service, then the PA announcer announced that the
train would run up to 179 Street-Jamaica. Then on the second trip up to
71-Continental Avenues and back to Roosevelt Island only. Photos
