Union Station is located in the center of downtown Tacoma in the center of the attractions it has to offer. It is across the street from the historic Union Station, which is no longer a train station but instead has been turned into a county courthouse. (The Tacoma, WA Amtrak station is near the Tacoma Dome Station, and Union Station has a sign outside of it saying that Amtrak is not here). The station itself is an island platform in the center of Pacific Avenue, with two tracks just south of the station the tracks join and the line is single tracked all the way to down to Tacoma Dome Station. The LINK usually has two LRVs running at a time, and they pass each other just about here. (Each leaving its respected terminal at the same time). Just north of the station the line as its own right of way for a brief period of time as it veares from Pacific Avenue one block over to Commerce Street.
