South Capital The South Capital Rail Runner Express Station is located across from a major government office complex only a little over a mile away from the Santa Fe Depot Station. The stop is located at street level and has two platforms on either side of the lines single track, doors open up on both sides of the train with pedestrian crossings at either end of the station. These platforms each have the standard adobe style canopy structures and Rail Runner weathervanes. In addition there are solar panels on the southern exposed sides of the canopies, and a stand-alone solar panel. An information display informs passengers that these provides eighty percent of the stations electrical needs. South of the station a bike path fallows the train line all the way to next but still unopened station Zia Road. A block north of the station is an extremely crazy grade crossing where the Railrunner goes diagonally across the intersection of two major divided streets Cerrillos Road and St. Francis Drive bringing lots of traffic to a stop.
