Wakefield (Metro-North Harlem Line)

Wakefield is located in the neighborhood of Wakefield in the very north Bronx. Wakefield is the northernmost area of the Bronx, in a small sliver of the Bronx that cuts into Westchester. Just south of the station the Harlem and New Haven Lines separate onto there own two separate rights-of-way. The New Haven Line Right of way is viewable just east of the station; a parking lot is between them East 241 Street crosses the two rights-of way on the same overpass. Wakefield-241 St, the terminus of the White Plains Road 2 Line, and 6 blocks east of the station down 241st Street.
The station itself is currently being rebuilt. Normally the platforms are north of 241st Street's overpass, but these are being rebuilt so temporary platforms that only fit the first 2 cars are used. These platforms are off the southern side of 241 Street. The platforms are semi-island platforms, with all 4 tracks platforming. Each is located between the side and middle tracks, although the middle track has only one door that can open because of fencing on the narrow platforms. Access to each platform is a small, long and narrow staircase off of 241 Street, on each platform is a small enclosed wooden shed which serves as the waiting area. There are two ticket machines, one on each platform in front of each of the waiting areas.
