New Canaan is terminus of Metro-North's New Canaan brach, the banch is very short and single tracked, and I think the most boring Metro-North branch
there are a few grade crossings but I found the flour of trees and suburban Connecticut boring. Do this branch as your last brach to railfan, I was much more satisfied with the Danbury and Waterbury branches. It is also very short and uses electric cars.
New Canaan station itself has one single platform, an interesting thing about it that it looks like its low-level although it isn't. The parking lot has been built in such away that it's only a small curb up to the high level platform
other then that the station has a station house, and two vending machines on the station platform, the ticket office is still open weekday mornings. The single track ends with a bumber block. There is also a second track that ends with a bumber block before the station.
