Warehouse District-Hennepin Avenue was the original northern terminus of the Minneapolis Light Rail. This arrangement until November 14th, 2009 when the one stop extension to Target Field opened to provide connections to the new Northstar commuter rail. The station has a simple island platform to one side of 5th Street, with ramps up to the platform at its either end. Trains reversed when the station was a terminal via a crossover before the station's platform.
