Target Field Station opened on November 14, 2009 to provide connections to the Northstar Commuter Rail Line that opened fully two days later. The station is also the stop for the Minnesota Twins open air ballpark located adjacent to the station's platform. The Light Rail Station has a simple island platform to the side of a street and the tracks continue for some distance beyond the station. The Northstar Station is located along the frieght line just below the station's platform and also has a simple island platform with many warmth huts along it. Theirs a third track for freight trains only parrell to the commuter rail platform.
