Government Center is the major Metrorail station in downtown. It is also the main transfer point to the Metromover. The station has a fairly complex set up and is located in a bit of an indoor arcade with shops and entrances to various buildings. There is a major Metrobus staion as street level. The rail portion of the station is a three level, elevated superstructure. The top level is for Metrorail which has an island platform. The middle level a mezzanine level directly below the platform. Fare control isn't here but is instead, on a lower level in two seperate areas along the sides of the Metromover's side platforms. There is also a Metrofare office.

(government_center3) A sign in the plaza at the Goverment Center Station. The word Metro is in one form or another for all five destinations listed on the sign. Metrorail, Metromover are on it as well as Metrofare shops & cafe, Metro-Dade Center, and Metro-Dade Cultural Center. A bit too many metro names if you ask me.
