Mattituck is located on the North Fork of Long Island, 84.4* miles away from Penn Station on the Ronkonkoma/Greenport Branch. Service to the station is very minimal with four passanger trains each weekday in each direction (two on the weekends, all require transfering in Ronkonkoma. The station is the most basic you will get on the LIRR: one platform with one track (the other is a spur that peaters out), the platform is also very short. In order to get into the city one must take a short two car deasel shuttle (use bi-level coaches) and transfer to an electric train in Ronkonkoma that goes directly to Penn Station. The station also has a small inclosed waiting area with no heat and only protection from the rain and wind. The platform is alongside the stations small free parking lot.
