Hicksville is located in eastern Nassau County, 26.8* miles away from Penn Station in zone 7. It is the junction where the Port Jefferson Branch and Ronkonkoma Branch meet. Most Montauk Branch trains run via Hicksville but only one Rush Hour train stops (The trains join the Ronkonkoma Branch east of Bethpage (none stop there). The schedule for all trains is on the Port Jefferson Branch timetable. The station is electrified with three tracks and two platforms that can accommodate 12 cars on an elevated structure with the waiting room and ticket office underneath. The middle track is mainly used by bi-level diesel hybrid Port Jefferson Branch trains terminating for transfer to trains on the Ronkonkoma Branch. Service is subway like with trains at least every ten minutes during rush hour. Weekend service is at least two trains an hour.
