Farmingdale is located just on the edge of Nassau County, before the Suffolk Border. The station is at a grade, and there is a level crossing at the soutern end. There is also a pedestrian underpass from the station house and parking lot along the eastbound platform to the westbound platform. There are two simple side platfroms up with ramps up to them making this like every stop on the Ronkonkoma Line wheelchair accessible.
