Willets Point-Shea Stadium is the stop for Shea Stadium which is to the north of the el and has a special exit open during games. The station also serves Flushing Meadow Park that has the remains of World Fares in 1939 and 1964-65. Access to the park is via a Bridge to the south. The station has three platforms with the side one on the Flushing-bound local track not in use. There are ramps to the Manhattan-bound platform for crowds after games. The unused side Flushing-bound platforms were built for large crowds as well. The mezzanine is fairly large with lots of turnstiles and a direct entrance to the bridge over the Corona Yard and then passes the small Long Island Rail Road Shea Stadium station. When there is a baseball game a special high capacity entrance is open that is over a bridge and ends up closer to the stadium. During tennis season (late August-early September) special turnstiles are added for a high capacity entrance to the bridge over the yards that lead to the tennis venues.
