Pelham Parkway is located on the Dyre Avenue Branch that used to be part
of the New York, Westchester & Boston Railroad the abandoned
railroad within the city limites was acquired by the city in the 1940s. Pelham Parkway Station is underground, when the Dyre Avenue Line quickly dips under
to go under Pelham Parkway and the surrounding area. Daylight is scene north of the station platforms from the tunnel portal. The southern portal is at Baychester Avenue.
The station has four tracks (The middle two being used as test tracks for newly aquired IRT rolling Stock), and two island platforms, it would have been an express station back in the day.
Fair Control is at street level in a concrete station house, which has two staircases down to each platforms. The platforms have no decerations or tiling whatsoever, just bare concrete
with blue pillars and benches, and meltal hanging and metal column signs.
