Baychester Avenue (5)

Baychester Avenue is a station on the Dyre Avenue Branch's unique former New York, Western and Boston Railway ROW (that was in operation only between 1912 and 1937). The stop has two side platforms for the four track line, the platforms have simple canopies towards about their half-way point where they become simple exposed platforms with railings. The station's only exit is at its extreme northern end where a single staircase from each platform leads to a narrow underpass area. From the Dyre Avenue-bound platform there is a single high turnstile out to the street before the underpass continues to doors into the actual small station house beneath the tracks at beneath the Manhattan-bound platform, here there is fare control along with a small sized token booth and doors out to the west sidewalk of Baychester Avenue north of its interchange with Tillotson Avenue. Another set of doors within fare control leads out to the single staircase up to the Manhattan-bound platform.
