137 Street-City College is a original IRT local stop which was renovated in the 1970s and a lot of the original tiling was covered with the new gray tiling. Two name tablets remain with the famous lady with three faces (Some are also now in the transit museum). The station has large round columns. There is no crossover or under. Each side has one exit at 137th Street. The station is just before skip-stop 1/9 service starts so the uptown platform can be quite crowded. In the fall of 2003 when uptown trains skipped 125th Street a free transfer ticket could be obtained to transfer directions. I got one and used my unlimited ride card to re-enter the subway
