River Oaks is the only stop on the original light rail line segment to open with a park & ride lot. Granted it only has 22 spaces. Around the station is the VTA administration building that is like a lot of Silicon Valley companies; in a suburban office park surrounded by parking lots. A small number of their spaces are designated for transit riders. The station consists of two side platforms that are completely offset from each other so trains stop at the far side of River Oaks Parkway. Each platform has a single blue canopy structure with brown columns that have white River Oaks text.
