Metro/Airport is a VTA light rail station in the median of East 1 Street. The stop has two offset side platforms on each side of Metro Drive so trains stop on the far side of the intersection. Metro Drive is the only way to legally access each platform although jaywalking to the other ends of the platform is easy and often done with minimal emergency exit signage and no gate. The streetside of each platform has a Jersey barrier with a blue railing. Each platform has a single standard blue canopy held up by two tiled pillars that have Metro/Airport in white written on brown tile. The platforms also have signs for the Airport Flyer to the San Jose Airport although which side of 1st street to cross to get to the Free 10 Airport Flyer bus stop is unclear.

The stop has Airport in the name (even though its along office parks) because it's the connecting point to Bus Route 10 - the VTA Airport Flyer. This free bus stops on the southbound side of 1 Street and runs non-stop to and from the airport taking 10 minutes to 12 minutes to Terminal A or Terminal B before continuing to the Downtown Santa Clara Caltrain, ACE and Amtrak Station. The bus runs every 15 minutes during weekdays but only half-hourly on weekends. The San Jose Airport is a 'downtown airport' (hence the location of thisstation).
