The Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station is located in an industrial section of Oakland. Their is a walkway (enclosed by high fencing) that leads to the Oakland-Alameda County (Network Associates/McAfee) Coliseum (home of The A's, and Raiders), and The Oakland Arena (home of the Golden State Warriors) Over what seems to be a warehouse storage yard
and the Oakland Coliseum Rail Platform for Amtrak Trains. The AirBart Shuttle Bus Service and AC Transit's Route 50 take passengers between the station and the Oakland Airport (about a 20 minute ride, the AC Transit bus is a nicer ride because it isn't advertised at all (being a city bus, and not a
special express bus) and costs $1.75 instead of $2.00, and seems to be much less crowded.)
The Coliseum station itself has a single island platform that was a little narrow, and got almost dangerously crowded after the Oakland A's Game I attended. The fare control (at street level under the platform), area is maybe a little bigger than most BART stations but not substantially, and was quite crowded after a game.
