Spokane, WA
Spokane, WA is a fairly major junction for the Empire Builder, it is where the Seattle (Trains #7 and #8) and Portland (Trains #27 and #28) are either joined together or divided. The city of Spokane is the major city in western Washington, and I believe the second biggest city proper in the state. The train station is combined with the Greyhound depot, and only sees its action in the dead of night. The station which is on ground level (the tracks and platform is on a viaduct) was recently renovated and is quite a major stop on the Builder though its action is limited to between Midnight and 3AM, first when the Eastbound Builder (Trains #8 and #28) are brought together, and then just less than an hour later (god-willing) when the Westbound Builder (Trains #7 and #27) is divided. Their is a small siding just west of the station where the back to back P42 Genesis locomotives that the Portland half of the Empire Builder uses are stored for the few layover hours.
