Raton, NM is located in the small downtown of a town in northern New Mexico, just south of its namesake Raton Pass where I-25 and the southwest chief enter Colorado. The station has a large tan colored station house part of which is the Amtrak waiting room that is small with colorful red and blue chairs along each wall that seem to have come from the seventies. On both the parking lot side and trackside of the station there are distinctive arches that provide an awning for the station building.
