The Glenwood Springs Amtrak Station, along with the town is located in a wide valley in the Colorado River. Tall mountains of the Rockies can be scene from all sides around the Amtrak Station, which is directly along the Colorado River. The station has a simple concrete platform that is quite narrow, towards the end of it, but is extremely wide (with almost the feel of a plaza and not a station platform) towards it's center where the large original Denver, Rio Grande, and Western Building built mostly of stone is. The station still has an Amtrak ticket office with a portion of it turned into the Glenwood Railroad Museum.
