Emeryville, CA is one of the major Bay Area Amtrak Stations. It is the location where Amtrak Thruway connecting buses leave to cross the Bay Bridge and enter downtown San Francisco. The station though is poorly served by regular public transit. The best bet is to ride the free Emeryville-go-round shuttle bus from Marthur BART station, or if not on the Coast Starlight or Zephyr get off at Richmond where there is a direct connection to BART.
The station has a double bus and taxi loop on the streetside side of the station building, where there is three modern ticket windows with checked luggage service behind glass. Some QuickTrak Machines in the corner, a Pete's Coffee and Teas stand and not all that much seating. Trackside the station has a side platform for an extra track that looks like a siding and has a longer platform (probably only used by the Zephyr and Starlight) and this track can be crossed to another platform where all the Capital Corridor Trains seem to depart from. The line here also has two more tracks that don't platform and there is a pedestrian bridge across to the other side of the rail line.
